Simple Stuffing

Simple Turkey Stuffing

  • 14 oz. bag of bread croutons
  • 2 cups chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons sage
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 tart apple, peeled and chopped
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Melt butter in a large skillet. Add the onions, celery, and apple. Cook until onions become soft.

Place croutons in large mixing bowl, add celery and onion mixture. Add all of the seasonings and mix well.

Next, slowly pour in the chicken broth as you mix with a fork. Do not let the stuffing become too wet. Add the egg and mix well.

Stuffing recipe can be made ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator for the next day before cooking. Baked at 350°F for approximately 40 minutes.
